NxLevel Competition will be working with Universities across the Midlands to find the best in creative local musical talent.

As NxLevel is aiming to be bigger and louder this year, the team knew that additional steps would have to be taken to find artists hidden away. The best way to connect with young people who are passionate about their art is through the classroom, which is why the NxLevel team will be touring many of the prestigious Universities in the East Midlands over the next few months. The first stop for NxLevel Competition was at De Montfort University at their Leicester City Centre campus. The university is famous for its art, design and media facilities along with its connections to the BBC and award winning radio station; Demon FM. Last year De Montfort University was in announced as one of the top 20 creative universities in UK

“Many students who are on music based courses have dreams of stardom and choose university as a way to hone their technical skills. University campuses are an exciting hub of activity with a diverse mix of culture, each with their own music influences.  Where better to kick off NxLevel auditions than at De Montfort University in Leicester?” – Simon Aitchison, NxLevel Chairman.

The NxLevel grand prize of £5000 would be an amazing opportunity for any student who needs the financial backing and media exposure to kick-start their career.  NxLevel has plans to bring the competition to Derby and Nottingham Trent University to get in touch with more students who have big dreams of performing. The NxLevel team was at De Montfort Uni Fresher’s Fair on the 25th October in the Campus Centre asking students to register their interest as artists or as behind the scenes supporters. By getting involved with NxLevel competition, students can develop necessary work experience to further their careers after graduation.
